Volunteer in Skjern Handball
At Skjern Handball, we are always looking for volunteers who want to contribute to creating great experiences in the Skjern Bank Arena for all home games. There are many ways to be a volunteer in Skjern Handball. Today, we have about 70 volunteers in "THE TEAM", which consists of both men and women, who ensure both big and small aspects during all home games.
"THE TEAM" handles among other things:
• Table setting in the lounges
• Ticket sales
• Scanning at the entrance
• Sales in booths (beer, water, sausages, candy, etc.)
• Distributing programs
• Advertising setup
• Signposting / helpers
• Control / security
• Cleaning up after the game
• Setting up / preparing for the game with signs and floor advertisements
The tasks are carried out on game days, which are typically Wednesdays or Saturday/Sundays. "THE TEAM" meets in the morning and "prepares the arena", and meets again before the actual game. Some can come in the morning and again for the game, while others come for the actual game, depending on what tasks they need to handle.
"THE TEAM" is invaluable for our event execution during all home games in the Skjern Bank Arena. As a volunteer in Skjern Handball, you are part of a community with experiences and excitement in an inspiring environment where there is room for diversity and high ceilings. In "THE TEAM", we enjoy being together. We create new friendships, help each other, and have shared experiences. We are unpaid but receive, among other things, a season ticket so we can watch the games when possible concerning the tasks we handle. Otherwise, we have meals together after the games when we are all finished with our tasks, and sometimes we watch Skjern Handball away games, where we can relax together.
Sascha Laulund Madsen, Skjern Handball: "Volunteer labor is one of the nerves for Skjern Handball. We cannot make a home game function without the volunteers, who all make a tremendous effort for Skjern Handball"
If you would like to hear more about "THE TEAM", you are always welcome to contact us, and you can also try being involved a few times to see if you think it is fun to be part of a community around Skjern Handball.
