Decimated Skjern squad lost in Skansen

By Kristian Bro

Skjern Handball had to take a 30-25 defeat away to Sønderjyske on Saturday.

The West Jutlanders were badly hit in the backcourt, as Jon Lindenchrone and Mads Bjergfelt were sidelined with injuries.

During the match Oscar Carlén also had to do without his offensive strategist, when Axel Månsson was given a red card instead of a scored goal.

Saturday’s match in Sønderborg was a patchy game with many mistakes. But despite the difficult conditions and the many different offensive formations, the Greens fought their way back into contention. But the cutting edge was missing.

Sønderjyske pulled away in the last two minutes, and therefore won 30-25.

Mads Mensah was Skjern’s top scorer with five goals.
