Skjern Handball heads west on Thursday evening, where an important away match awaits against Ribe-Esbjerg HH in Blue Water Dokken. The match starts at 19:30 – and many green-clad fans are expected in the stands.
Skjern Handball enters the fixture with a strong start to 2026 behind them with two wins in two games – first away at Fredericia HK and most recently at home in Skjern Bank Arena against HØJ Elite.
Head coach Kasper Søndergaard is particularly pleased with the expression in the first games after the turn of the year.
– It was a really strong performance in Fredericia, where we won comfortably on a difficult away court. That is the type of handball we want to represent: solid craftsmanship, great discipline and plenty of hardness in defense – and not least that we are ready from the first second. We also saw that at home against HØJ, where we fought well, stood together in the decisive periods and secured two points in a great atmosphere in Skjern Bank Arena, says Kasper Søndergaard.
Thursday’s task will be demanding, and in the Skjern camp there is no doubt about what it takes to get points away from home.
– We must go down and attack the game. We want tempo in the match and to run with them, while maintaining the same hardness and stability in our defensive play. We cannot hit 90 percent and think that is enough. You don’t win in this league like that. It requires full pressure and full focus, says the head coach.
