The Skjern team kicks off the Bambuni Men's League on Tuesday evening, when the West Jutlanders play away against GOG in the first round.
Rasmus Wilbek - who made his official debut on the coach's bench as assistant coach on Friday evening, when Skjern advanced in the cup competition - reports a hungry Skjern squad that on Tuesday sets course for Svendborg.
“I think it will be an exciting match to open the season with. It will be a bit of a match where physics meets speed, so we will of course try to get it on our terms,” says Rasmus Wilbek.
Skjern and GOG last faced each other in a training match just three weeks ago. Therefore Wilbek also expects that the recent meeting will have significance for Tuesday's fixture.
“There is a bit of a game within the game in terms of seeing who has learned the most from the training match we had only three weeks ago. In general we simply have a squad that is hungry and eager to get the season started. There will be pressure on here the first weeks, and we must do what we can to withstand it,” says Rasmus Wilbek.
The match starts tomorrow in Svendborg at 20:00.
The fixture will be shown live on TV2 Sport and TV2 Play.
