From Kristian Bro
The green-blues got off to a rough start in the DM finals series when the team suffered a 26-22 loss away against Aalborg Handbold on Wednesday night.
It was a close and physical match, where the Skjern squad fought hard defensively but struggled to find the offensive flow that has characterized the team throughout 2025.
– We did not succeed with our offensive play, and Aalborg drew a lot of free throws on us. We never got into the rhythm that has been our strength in 2025, said Jakob Rasmussen after the match.
However, he maintains that Skjern has previously shown the ability to adjust and find their way to victories.
– We need to do like we did in the other semifinal – fix some things, find the small adjustments, and then we will be stronger on Saturday. We know what it takes to turn this around.
A massive support from the over 300 traveling Skjern fans helped carry the team through the match, despite the loss.
– It was a fantastic support all the way through. Huge applause to those who made the trip to Aalborg – it means the world to us, says Jakob Rasmussen.
The return match will be played on Saturday at 16:00 in a sold-out Skjern Bank Arena.
