Midtgaard shone brightly against Germany

By Kristian Bro

Marcus Midtgaard came on after the break when Denmark on Saturday won 31-29 against Germany in a training match in Cologne.

The Skjern player made a fine impact on the match with both goals and assists in front of more than 20,000 spectators in the German arena.

– It is always great to be allowed to play for Denmark. These are matches you really look forward to, and it was just an awesome experience to play in that atmosphere in Cologne. There was pressure from start to finish, says Marcus Midtgaard.

The backcourt player offered himself well after the break and put his stamp on the Danish attack.

– It is easy to fit into this team because there is so much quality around you. There is a lot of help and communication on the court, and that just gives a sense of security when you come in. I am just happy to get the opportunity and to be able to contribute when the chance arises, says Marcus Midtgaard.
