After a very challenging start to the match, where the West Jutlanders fell behind 10-4, Oscar Carlén's troops fought their way steadily back into the round of 16.
Not least thanks to substitute Kristian Zetterlund.
In Sunday's match it was Svend Rughave who shone with an impressive 23 saves in the big win over SAH, and this evening in Helsingør it was his colleague Zetterlund who stepped up.
The Swedish keeper recorded 15 saves, and he played a decisive role in Skjern's comeback.
Towards the end of the first half the West Jutlanders got back into it. The half-time lead for the home team of 18-15 was caught up within five minutes of the second half, and from there the contest ebbed and flowed.
Skjern, however, opened a gap in the final phase of the match, and were on several occasions 3-4 goals ahead, before the hosts managed to create a little unnecessary tension at the very end.
Joachim Møller sealed the deal with his goal to make it 33-31, and sent Skjern into the quarter-finals.
There is a draw tonight for the quarter-finals.
