A seasoned club veteran is the new captain in the green jersey.
Mads Mensah is the new captain at Skjern Håndbold; he takes over the captain's armband from Emil Bergholt, who this summer has moved to Flensburg-Handewitt.
– I am proud that the club has looked my way. I take that as a great recognition, and it is a role I look forward to taking on. But it doesn’t really change that much about the way I am. I have always tried to take responsibility and speak my mind when it has been necessary. Maybe it will just become a little clearer now, says Mads Mensah.
Over the summer Skjern Håndbold has said goodbye to several prominent figures, and that opens up new opportunities for others in the squad.
– There are several big personalities who have left the club, and therefore there are some things and roles that must now be filled by others. I will of course be part of that, but I also expect that more people will take responsibility. It is not one man who must carry it all. We all have to contribute to that effort, says Mads Mensah.
