Madsen: We need to get back to our offensive base

By Kristian Bro

On Wednesday at 18:30, the second semifinal will be played in Skjern Bank Arena, where the West Jutlanders are chasing revenge against GOG after the defeat in the first semifinal. Head coach Mathias Madsen looks forward to a showdown where performance is required on multiple parameters – both in defense and in attacking play.

– We want to build on our defense, but there are of course a couple of small adjustments, especially to the wide play, says Mathias Madsen.

The head coach also points out that the team needs to find its offensive base, which has been a hallmark throughout 2025.

– Most of all, we need to find a way to produce more goals. I actually think we're creating good chances, but we cannot afford to score only 19 goals again. We need to regain the foundation in our offense. We have averaged over 31 goals in 2025, so the game last Sunday was a solitary swallow – and at an unfortunate time. But the basis for our attacking play has been fantastic throughout 2025.

Mathias Madsen also highlights the team's back players, who need to bring out their high level again.

– There is of course a lot of pressure on our three back players because they play a lot, but they should also be allowed to have an off day. I'm confident that they will burn down Skjern Bank Arena on Wednesday.

And just Skjern Bank Arena will play a central role when the team again takes to the field in front of the green fans.

– A boiling Skjern Bank Arena means everything to us. We could clearly feel the pressure down in Svendborg. Likewise, it was fantastic to see that many Skjern fans had made the long trip to Svendborg - that's just top class. The atmosphere for a semifinal will be fantastic on Wednesday, and I can only encourage everyone in the arena to continue the good vibes they've shown in the last two games against SAH and Mors-Thy. It has really been strong and has carried us forward, and I'm sure they will do the same on Wednesday.

In other words, a great evening is in store at Skjern Bank Arena when the semifinal kicks off at 18:30. Buy your ticket for the game HERE.
