There was a debut for Serbian Simo Sijan, as the West Jutlanders played 32-32 against GOG last night in an intense and dramatic match in Svendborg. The 20-year-old back player got his first minutes in the green jersey and expressed his thoughts on the experience after the match.
- It was a special debut against a tough opponent. GOG has had a good season and has a strong home ground, so it was a big experience for me, says Simo Sijan.
The Skjern team came close to taking both points home from Funen, but had to settle for a single point after a nerve-wracking finish - see the finish HERE.
- We managed to get an important point, but we deserved two. Now I look forward to the next match in Skjern, where I will get to play in front of many people in Skjern Bank Arena – I am really looking forward to that, says the debutant.
The talented Serbian is ready to build on his first match and looks forward to developing in the green jersey.
- I am hungry for more minutes on the field, but I also need to be patient and show myself to the coaches and the team. I look forward to that, Simo Sijan concludes.
The next match for Simo and the rest of the Skjern team is on February 18 against Skanderborg Aarhus AGF. Buy your ticket for the match HERE.
