A little over a year ago, a very lively home crowd in a sold-out Skjern Bank Arena began to lift as the yellow team from GOG was sent home to South Funen with a loss of 33-30.
Back then, Mathias Madsen's boys took two very important points in the first playoff match, which were converted into bronze medals a handful of weeks later.
On Saturday, the greens will start the playoffs anew, where head coach Madsen has one clear message.
- The atmosphere in the playoffs last year was electric, and we need to replicate that. It lifted us all. The support and pressure that the audience brought were significant contributors to us winning all our home games in our group. Our audience plays a huge role - so let go of your inhibitions, come to Skjern Bank Arena early and warm up for what hopefully will be a great Saturday, says head coach Mathias Madsen and adds:
- We have landed in a strong group with Aalborg Handball as the big favorite. We all dream of the fourth DM semifinal in a row, but it is going to require a lot of points due to our 8th place in the regular season. We will start the hunt on Saturday, and we will need all the support we can possibly get, he says.
