It looked promising in Skjern Bank Arena Saturday evening.
In front of 3028 spectators - which was the fifth time in a row with over 3000 spectators in the stands - the West Jutlanders started in excellent spirits.
Led by top scorer Noah Gaudin, the green-clad team played 30 fantastic minutes, and with a bit more sharpness and ruthlessness in front of the goal - and not least in power plays - they could have been ahead by more than 18-17 at halftime.
A great start to the second half by the guests shifted the balance of power into the hands of the North Jutlanders, who, despite persistent efforts from Mathias Madsen's troops, never quite caught up with the Danish champions.
Aalborg Handball won 31-29.
Noah Gaudin was the top scorer with 10 goals.
The next task for the greens is in a week, when KIF Kolding awaits away. The match will be shown live on TV2.
