One of Denmark's longest-standing handball partnerships continues.
Skjern Bank and Skjern Handball extend historic cooperation to 2030.
Skjern Bank has been the main sponsor of Skjern Handball since 1992 and has thus followed the club for more than three decades – from the years before promotion to the country's top division to championships, European adventures and a permanent place among Denmark's leading handball clubs.
Now the two parties continue the story together.
– Skjern Bank has been with us all the way and has had a very special significance for the development Skjern Handball has undergone. That we can now extend the cooperation all the way to 2030 is a strong signal of the mutual trust and shared ambitions that remain between the club and the bank, says director of Skjern Handball, Carsten Thygesen.
More than a sponsorship
The cooperation between Skjern Bank and Skjern Handball reaches far beyond the traditional sponsorship agreement. For decades the bank has been closely connected with the club and the local area, and Skjern Bank also lends its name to Skjern Bank Arena.
The director of Skjern Bank, Thomas Baun, expresses great pleasure and pride that the good partnership is extended until 2030.
- It is something we all rejoice over at Skjern Bank. We experience great value creation in the partnership - Skjern Handball is clearly a contributing cause to the positive growth we see in all the bank's 11 branches, among other things via the active partnership and the enormous exposure we gain from home and away games and not least through the club's many TV matches, says Thomas Baun.
When Skjern Bank first became main sponsor in 1992, Skjern Handball was not yet playing in the country's top division. Promotion followed in 1998 and the first Danish championship the year after. The cooperation has continued ever since.
– We are proud of our history, but above all we look ahead. We have big ambitions for Skjern Handball, and that requires strong and long-term partners. Therefore it means a lot that our main sponsor after so many years still wishes to be a central part of the journey, says Carsten Thygesen.
