Joaquim Nazaré leaves Skjern Håndbold after three seasons.
The right back has been released from his contract, which had otherwise been extended earlier in the year until 2027.
– I don’t really know how to put into words everything I feel right now. From the first day I have felt really welcome in Skjern together with my family, and I have been incredibly happy in all three years. I also feel an enormous pride in having worn the colours of this fantastic club and in having shared a dressing room with such fantastic teammates.
– It has been three wonderful years that I will always look back on with pride and joy. At the same time I am incredibly happy and proud for the future that awaits. It was an opportunity I could not say no to.
– But as I have said before, Skjern Håndbold will always have a very special place in my heart. I want to thank the club, my teammates, the coaching staff, all the employees and not least the fans for the support they have given me through the years. It has been an honour to play for Skjern Håndbold, and I hope that one day I will get the opportunity to pull the green jersey over my head again, says Joaquim Nazaré.
Sports director Thomas Klitgaard states:
– Things move fast in the sporting world, and sometimes opportunities arise that neither club nor player can say no to. It is of course melancholy to say goodbye to Joaquim, but at the same time it is also a good example of the strategy we work after at Skjern Håndbold. We want to bring in talented players with great development potential, make them better and in the long run send them on. Noah Gaudin, Christoffer Bonde and Emil Bergholt are good examples of that.
– When we brought Joaquim three years ago, both he and we took a chance. He came to Denmark as a young player, had never been to the country before and didn’t even speak English. Since then he has developed enormously – both as a player and a person – and has been a big part of the results we have created together, including the Danish Championship silver and Danish Championship bronze. We wish Joaquim and his family all the best, and look forward to following him at his new club, says Thomas Klitgaard.
