Skjern signs European top talent

One of Europe’s most sought-after talents will wear the green jersey for the next three seasons.

The top scorer in the European League in the recently concluded season, Axel Månsson, transfers to Skjern Håndbold on a three-year contract.

The arrival of the Swedish top talent sparks great excitement with sporting director Thomas Klitgaard.

- Axel is a huge talent who has been pursued by an incredible number of clubs. His talent and abilities are indisputable, and therefore we are extremely proud that he has chosen Skjern Håndbold. He comes from a strong season at IFK Kristianstad, where he played a large part in the championship, while also becoming top scorer in the European League. That speaks of a player with a very high level and even greater development potential, says Thomas Klitgaard.

The 21-year-old Swede looks forward to the next step in his career.

- I am really looking forward to pulling the green jersey over my head. Skjern is a big club in Denmark with proud traditions and has been at the top for many years. It is exactly the level I want to be part of, says Axel Månsson.

- I am coming to Skjern to help win medals. We have a strong squad with lots of quality, and I look forward to working hard every single day to contribute to the team’s development and hopefully create great experiences together with the club and our fans, says Skjern’s new number 27, who, like the two other players presented this week, is moving to the town.
